Biography

As EXIM’s Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Tony Onorato serves as the chief legal advisor to the Chairman and President and the Bank’s senior leadership. He leads a team of attorneys and professional staff overseeing complex transaction and litigation portfolios, representing EXIM in legal negotiations, policy and compliance issues, and advising on administrative law matters.

Onorato brings over two decades of experience in complex litigation, transactional matters, government investigations, regulatory compliance, and data security. Most recently, he was a Founding Partner of Pierson Ferdinand LLP, where his practice spanned a wide variety of commercial matters and industry sectors.

Prior to his legal career, Onorato was a seasoned political consultant, campaign strategist, public opinion researcher, and media consultant for a national political committee, presidential and congressional campaigns, and corporate clients.

Onorato received his Juris Doctor magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History cum laude from Duke University.
