Export-Import Bank of the United States Board of Directors Approves Infrastructure Investments Totaling Nearly $285 Million
Washington, DC – The Export-Import Bank of the United States’ (EXIM) Board of Directors today approved two transactions totaling nearly $285 million.
The first of the two approvals today supports the export of Wabtec Corporation modernized locomotives to Grupo Mexico Transportes (GMXT). The nearly $185 million in financing will support GMXT’s fleet renewal program and support 600 good-paying, skilled manufacturing jobs in Pennsylvania and Texas.
In the second transaction, the Board approved $99 million dollars to support Bahamas LNG Partner Ltd. in purchasing U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG). This LNG financing complements a transaction previously approved by the EXIM Board of Directors on June 26th, 2025, which includes the procurement of General Electric (GE) Vernova TM2500 Gen 8 Aeroderivative gas turbines, along with the construction of a natural gas pipeline and a diesel pipeline.
“EXIM has a long history of supporting infrastructure projects, from bridges to pipelines, and today is no exception,” said Acting President and Chairman James Cruse. “Today’s financing supports American manufacturers and skilled jobs while modernizing rail transport in Mexico and advancing energy security in the Bahamas.”
Combined, the two transactions approved today will support around 1,400 jobs across the United States, underscoring EXIM’s commitment to supporting jobs at home and strategic investments abroad.
