Ignacio Diaz serves as Senior Economist and Office of Chief Risk Officer for Country Risk and Economic Analysis at EXIM. In this role he is responsible for U.S. government-wide country risk assessments—the Interagency Country Risk Assessment System (ICRAS)—of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and Oceania regions, is a participant in the Country Risk Experts group that determines OECD fee levels used by EXIM, and serves as an adviser to EXIM’s senior management and EXIM staff on all country risk issues for MENA and Oceania.

During his time at EXIM, Ignacio has proudly served and advised several administrations with unbiased information to help U.S. exporters in difficult markets, maintained the EXIM’s Country Limitation Schedule for over 20 years, helped a large number of new economists to transition to their new role in Country Risk and Economic Analysis division, and written the largest number of ICRAS reports than anyone else.

Prior to working at EXIM, Ignacio was an International Economist at Foreign Agricultural Service. Additionally, Ignacio holds a B.A. from Duke University and an M.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
