Gabrielle Ventura serves as Financial Economist of Country Risk and Economic Analysis at EXIM. In this role she manages East and Southern Africa portfolio within the Country Risk and Economic Analysis division, delivering sovereign and non-sovereign risk assessments that inform U.S. Government credit policies where she also develops comprehensive country rating reports, evaluating key risk factors, forecasting rating outlooks, and proposing policy recommendations for EXIM leadership. She oversees enhancements to risk rating methodologies by performing advanced statistical research, data analysis, and process improvements, which helps her role in representing U.S. Government perspectives at OECD Country Risk Experts Group meetings, where she collaborates with international export credit agencies on risk rating standards. 

While at EXIM, Gabrielle has proudly contributed to roughly 150 Global Risk Weekly publications, providing insights into current events in the region and their impacts on sovereign and non-sovereign creditworthiness and authored over 40 ICRAS country risk analysis reports, providing key ratings and narrative insights on risks, opportunities, and trends in countries in my portfolio. Additionally, she has presented at EXIM’s annual conference, the OECD Country Risk Experts Group, and the ICTF, and other forums as an East and Southern Africa economics and sovereign risk expert and participated in numerous country delegation meetings, representing EXIM’s Country Risk and Economic Analysis division.

Before joining EXIM, Gabrielle was a Banking Risk Economist at IHS Markit, which is now part of S&P Global. During her time there she monitored and assessed risks in emerging market banking sectors, including in the Middle East and North Africa, Latin America, and Emerging Europe regions, independently monitored regional and global financial news, producing written summaries of key developments and their implications, and forecasted key banking sector indicators across country portfolio, maintaining and updating projections based off of ongoing developments.

Gabrielle holds a B.S. in Economics and International Business Administration from the University of Dayton as well as a M.A. in International Economics from American University.
