Dan Negrea

Dan Negrea will serve as Senior Advisor in the Office of the President and Chairman. He joins EXIM after serving as Founder and Senior Director of the Freedom and Prosperity Center at the Atlantic Council and, during the first Trump Administration, the U.S. Department of State where he served as Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs (Economic Bureau) and Senior Adviser, Policy Planning Staff (Office of the Secretary of State). He has an extensive background in international banking and finance.
Mr. Negrea defected from Communist Romania in the late 1970s and is now a widely published writer and author of books, articles, and several reports on international economic development. Prior to working at the Atlantic Council, he spent more than four decades in New York City and Los Angeles as a corporate finance banker at ING Barings, Chase Securities, Bear Stearns, and Drexel Burnham. He held senior positions including Managing Director and Department Co-Head and worked with companies in a broad range of industries. He has raised more than $15 billion in capital in the U.S. and abroad.
He received his M.A. from the School of International Economic Relations in Bucharest, Romania, and a M.B.A. from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. He speaks four languages fluently: German, French, Romanian, and English.
