Increasing U.S. trade and investment in the emerging markets of the Andes is the goal of an upcoming conference October 3-4, 2002, at the Mira Flores Park Hotel in Lima, Peru. The conference will be co-hosted by the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), the Export Import Bank of the U.S. (Ex-Im Bank), and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (TDA).

The Andean Regional Trade and Investment Conference will draw dozens of businesses from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and the U.S. to discuss opportunities in the infrastructure, technology, tourism, and renewable energy and environmental sectors. The conference will also include practical matchmaking sessions designed to get projects underway. Representatives from all three trade-related U.S. government agencies, as well as the U.S. Departments of Commerce and State will be on hand to facilitate networking.

For more information, or to register to attend the conference, please visit the conference website at www.opic.gov, or e-mail andeanregionalconference@opic.gov, or call (202) 336-8490.
