Statement from Export-Import Bank of the United States President and Chair Reta Jo Lewis on Senate Confirmation of Owen Herrnstadt to the EXIM Board of Directors
“I am pleased that the United States Senate voted earlier today to confirm Owen Herrnstadt to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of the Export-Import Bank of the United States.
Mr. Herrnstadt has more than 30 years of experience working with the labor movement to protect workers’ rights and advancing global trade that benefits working people. Before being confirmed to the EXIM Board, Mr. Herrnstadt served most recently as Chief of Staff to the International President of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM). He has served multiple terms as a member of EXIM's Advisory Committee, using his expertise to help inform EXIM's commitment to small businesses and American workers. He also served on the State Department’s Advisory Committee for International Economic Policy.
I look forward to working with Mr. Herrnstadt to continue supporting America's workforce and advancing EXIM's mission to ensure America's exporters are competitive in the global landscape.”
