READOUT: Export-Import Bank of the United States Chair Reta Jo Lewis Hosts Bilateral Session with UK Export Finance

WASHINGTON – Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) President and Chair Reta Jo Lewis and senior staff yesterday hosted a delegation from UK Export Finance (UKEF), the United Kingdom’s export credit agency. The UKEF delegation was led by Chief Executive and Board Member Louis Taylor and included several members of UKEF’s senior staff.

Chair Lewis outlined the critical importance of cross-border commercial partnerships with values aligned export credit agencies like UKEF, especially on issues like Russia and energy security. Chair Lewis reiterated the Biden-Harris Administration’s whole-of-government approach to leading the global energy transition and expanding America’s export finance toolkit for global trade challenges. Throughout the meeting, Chair Lewis also made clear that EXIM is open for business and dedicated to ensuring that America’s small businesses have every resource available to compete around the world.

Mr. Taylor emphasized UKEF’s desire to deepen the collaboration between UKEF and EXIM, share more opportunities, and work to better address climate challenges and export credit modernization.

In addition to the meeting between the two agency heads, UKEF and EXIM staff held working sessions throughout the day to share best practices, discuss policy priorities and align on key sector engagements.
