READOUT: Export-Import Bank of the United States President and Chair Reta Jo Lewis Meets with Minister Khalid Chowdhury and Delegation from Bangladesh
WASHINGTON – President and Chair of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) Reta Jo Lewis and EXIM staff on Tuesday met with a public and private sector delegation from Bangladesh, led by Minister of Shipping, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury. The delegation included several senior officials from the Bangladesh government, water utility providers, equipment companies, and engineers. The visit came as part of a reverse trade mission organized by the United States Trade and Development Agency, in partnership with EXIM and the U.S. Department of State.
During the conversation, the group discussed potential financing for energy, technology, and infrastructure projects in Bangladesh, including improvements to waterways. Chair Lewis affirmed the United States’ commitment to leveraging American-made equipment and technologies in ways that advance local economic goals and deepen the commercial relationship between the United States and Bangladesh.
