WASHINGTON, D.C. - Google experts will take part in the June 4 Increasing Colorado's Participation in the Global Economy seminar in Denver, organized by the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank) in cooperation with Sen. Michael Bennet (D.-Colo), Ex-Im Bank announced.
The event is one of a series of Exports Live! seminars held by Ex-Im Bank across the country. Google is partnering with Ex-Im Bank to help Colorado's small businesses use the Internet to take advantage of marketing opportunities across the globe.
All interested Coloradans are invited to attend the seminar, to be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 4, at The Driscoll Center on the University of Denver campus.
I'm glad that Colorado small business owners and manufacturers will have the chance to learn from Google and Ex-Im Bank about the immense opportunities available from exporting, said Bennet. Exporting can bring a boost to our local economy by growing our small businesses, creating jobs and opening up a whole new market.
Sen. Bennet will deliver opening remarks at the seminar, followed by a keynote address by Ex-Im Bank Chairman Fred P. Hochberg, and remarks by Google Manager of Online Sales John Nicoletti. A panel discussion will inform participants about Tools and Techniques for Marketing Globally. Panelists will include David Josephson, director of Ex-Im Bank's Western Regional Office, and representatives of other trade-related federal agencies and private companies.
Our goal is to work with Colorado companies to meet the new export opportunities out there, said Hochberg. Many companies want to take advantage of these opportunities but aren't aware of the government products and services available to them. This export seminar will introduce Coloradans to those tools, including those from Google.
Ex-Im Bank is the official export-credit agency of the United States. The independent, self-sustaining federal government agency helps to create and maintain U.S. jobs by financing the sales of U.S. exports, primarily to emerging markets throughout the world, providing loan guarantees, export-credit insurance and direct loans.
