E-commerce is rapidly increasing in China, there are over 630 million internet users in the country, of whom 47% are online shoppers and as of 2014, eCommerce sales in China totaled US $449 billion, up 49% from the year prior, according to the Chinese government’s National Bureau of Statistics (CNBS).
China’s eCommerce market is growing more than three times faster than that of the U.S. and when approached with the right strategy, can be an extremely valuable market entry method for a U.S. company.
In order to help facilitate further success for U.S. companies, the U.S. Department of Commerce NY Export Assistance Center, and our strategic partner UPS, are organizing a one day workshop aimed at helping companies (SME’s) in entering the China eCommerce environment. China eCommerce Boot Camp is a one day training event designed to give U.S. SME brand owners the opportunity to attend a training session to practically learn about eCommerce in China. The goal of the program is to develop an initial draft of a China eCommerce strategy plan.
