Natalie McGarry

Natalie Nguyen McGarry was appointed in July 2017 as Senior Vice President of the Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs (OCIA) at the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM). The OCIA leads all engagement for EXIM with the United States Congress, federal and state agencies.

Ms. McGarry has more than 20 years of experience in leadership roles on Capitol Hill and government relations in the private sector. She served as legal counsel to three Chairmen of the U.S. House Committee on Financial Services, ultimately rising to serve as the Committee Parliamentarian and Senior Counsel. In her role at the Committee, Ms. McGarry was involved in the drafting and progression to enactment of monumental financial services legislation, including the Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999.

Following her career on Capitol Hill, Ms. McGarry was a government affairs leader for the insurance industry, and later, state bank regulators. She also worked as an attorney in legal practice after completing her law degree. Prior to law school, Ms. McGarry was a reporter at the Boston Herald.

Ms. McGarry earned a B.A. in International Studies and Japanese Studies from the University of Virginia, and a J.D. from the New England School of Law. She is proficient in Vietnamese, French and Spanish.
