Mr. Jeﬀrey Goettman joined the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) in June 2017 as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Oﬃcer. As Executive Vice President, Mr. Goettman provides financial and administrative leadership to the export-finance banking teams and the business administration activities of its 400+ employees. He became acting head of agency in March 2018.
Mr. Goettman has enjoyed a successful career in private equity and investment banking. He founded CameronBlue Capital, a private equity firm, to focus on control investments involving owner-managers in the small and mid-sized business markets. Previously, Mr. Goettman was a Managing Member at Thayer Capital Partners, a Washington, D.C. based private equity firm with more than $1.5 billion in equity investments. As a private equity investor, Mr. Goettman has served as the chairman of the board of more than 10 businesses and as a board member on several more. Mr. Goettman specialized in creative and flexible capital structures tailored toward a management philosophy of responsible stewardship, enabling management, and creating enduring businesses.
Prior to his private equity-investing career, Mr. Goettman specialized in mergers and acquisitions as an investment banker with Morgan Stanley, Wasserstein Perella, and Robertson Stephens. Mr. Goettman holds a BS in Economics and Computer Science from Duke University, where he graduated magna cum laude with honors in Economics and enjoyed a four-year varsity golf career. He also received an MBA from the Stanford School of Business.
Mr. Goettman has an active interest in youth sports and has coached more than a dozen travel basketball teams in Northern Virginia. Mr. Goettman has been happily married to his wife, Ann, for more than 25 years, and they have three adult children.
