Purafil, Inc.

Purafil, Inc.

Purafil, a 70-employee company in Doraville, Georgia, is shipping $400,000 of chemical filters to the Agip KCO oil refinery in Kazakhstan, backed by an Ex-Im Bank multibuyer insurance policy. The filters protect people and electronics by removing acid gases from the air stream at the refinery, which is located at the Kashagan oil field north of the Caspian Sea. "The Ex-Im Bank insurance mitigates repayment risks, enabling suppliers such as Purafil to work with small international contractors that win projects in emerging markets like Kazakhstan," says Andrew J. Weiller, Purafil's regional manager in the Caspian region. "We expect $2-3 million of business in additional projects in Kazakhstan over the next two-three years."
