EX-IM BANK VICE CHAIRMAN EDUARDO AGUIRRE ADDRESSES
STRUCTURED TRADE FINANCE IN THE AMERICAS CONFERENCE IN MIAMI

Aguirre Confirms Ex-Im Bank’s Commitment to Financing U.S. Exports, Getting Deals Done

The Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank) is committed to being accessible, user-friendly and responsive to all of our constituencies and providing sound financing for exports, whether in difficult times or difficult markets, Ex-Im Bank Vice Chairman Eduardo Aguirre, told participants at the 4th Annual Structured Trade and Finance in the Americas Conference today in Miami, FL.

"Ex-Im Bank will continue to get good deals done that will benefit businesses and people in the United States and throughout the world," said Aguirre. "During these turbulent times, we stand ready to help. Ex-Im Bank is bullish on most markets and will continue to provide sound financing as it has for nearly 68 years."

Aguirre told conference participants that Ex-Im Bank today stands at the confluence of powerful forces that are changing the business environment throughout the world. “Keeping trade flowing and growing are central to Ex-Im Bank’s mission. They are also key components of the Bush Administration’s efforts to re-ignite global economic growth,” Aguirre said.

Ex-Im Bank is an independent U.S. government agency that helps finance the sale of U.S. exports primarily to emerging markets throughout the world by providing loans, guarantees and insurance. In fiscal year 2001, Ex-Im Bank supported $12.5 billion of U.S. exports worldwide.
