Add Element Security Permissions
Use the Add Element Security Permissions dialog to assign Element permissions to a specific user or group. This dialog displays as Edit Element Security Permissions for existing Elements, as shown below. From the Manage Elements dialog, click the edit icon for a selected Element, then click Security to display the Custom Element Security dialog. Access this dialog by clicking the edit icon for a selected user or group or using the Add User(s)/Group(s) options.
Add or Edit Element Security Permissions presents the following options:
Permissions: The rights in effect for the current User or Group.
- Use Element - Allows the use of the Element. This Element displays in the Element Gallery for insertion into pages
- Select - Enables the Select Rendering Mode option for the Element once it is placed on a page. The rendering mode allows for content reuse.
- Add Data - Allows users to add new data records to Element.
- Edit Data - Allows users to edit existing data records for the Element.
- Delete Data - Allows users to delete Element data records.
- Add/Edit Field Definitions - Enables creation and editing of Custom Element fields.
- Administration - Allows users to change permissions for the Element, and provides all above permissions.
- Create Private Display Templates - Enables the creation of display templates that only the creator can use. Leave this and the next option unchecked to disable Display Template Creation for this Element.
- Create Public Display Templates - Enables the creation of display template that everyone can use. Leave this and the previous option unchecked to disable Display Template Creation for this Element.
To grant permissions, check one or more check boxes, and click Save to apply permission changes to the current Element.
