Michele A. Kuester

Michele Kuester currently serves as vice president of the Operations and Data Quality Division of Ex-Im Bank's Export Finance Group. The division administers the intake of applications for Ex-Im Bank loans, guarantees and insurance; administers loans and guarantees following authorization; and issues short- and medium-term insurance policies following authorization.  In addition, the Division has taken on a new responsibility for developing and implementing procedures to enhance Ex-Im Bank’s data quality.

Kuester has been with Ex-Im Bank over 16 years, serving both as a claims officer and a loan officer before joining the Policy and Planning Group as a policy analyst in 1993.  During her fourteen years in the Policy and Planning Group Kuester held a number of different positions including Vice President of the Policy Analysis Division and the International Relations Division.  Also during her tenure at Ex-Im Bank, Kuester has been involved in a number of Ex-Im Bank initiatives to manage data and improve information quality.  Before joining Ex-Im Bank, Kuester’s experience included human resources management and marketing at IBM.

Kuester holds an undergraduate degree in international finance from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree in international management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
