Joseph Sorbera Vice President- Controller As vice president-controller of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank), Joseph Sorbera is responsible for the loan, guarantee and insurance servicing operations. He is also responsible for the preparation of the Bank’s financial statements and reporting of financial and program activities, both internal and external. In addition, Sorbera serves as the Bank’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) public liaison. Since joining the Bank in 1975, Sorbera has held a number of positions within the Treasurer-Controller’s office including staff accountant in the loan, guarantee and insurance servicing operations, supervisor of the cash control office, and supervisor of the budget and reports office. Prior to his current position, Sorbera served as deputy treasurer-controller where he participated in the conversion and upgrade of several accounting systems, and was responsible for the conversion of the Bank’s proprietary general ledger to the government-wide standard general ledger. Most recently he was responsible for the conversion of the Bank’s financial reporting from private sector accounting standards to U.S. government accounting standards.
